Boar ejaculate owes its characteristic large volume mainly to accessory sex gland (ASG) secretions. These are main contributors to the protective functions of seminal plasma, especially against oxidative damage. Numerous antioxidants have been detected in ASG secretions, and, respectively, in seminal plasma.

Evolutionary and Structural Insights Into the Multifaceted Glutathione Peroxidase (Gpx) Superfamily
Antioxidants & Redox Signaling, 2008Glutathione peroxidase (GPx) is a widespread protein superfamily found in many organisms throughout all kingdoms of life. Although it was initially thought to use only glutathione as reductant, recent evidence suggests that the majority of GPxs have specificity for thioredoxin.

A Photo‐responsive Catalytic Vesicle with GPx Activity
Chinese Journal of Chemistry, 2013AbstractGlutathione peroxidase (GPx) is a vital antioxidant enzyme involved in the reduction of reactive oxygen species and protects cells from oxidative damage. Consequently enormous efforts have been devoted to developing artificial catalysts with GPx function.

Discussion on the Influence of Gpx 4 Target in the Field of Cancer
Current Medicinal ChemistryThe current review was undertaken to collate data on Gpx4 inhibitors and the regulatory proteins related to Gpx4. Gpx4 plays an essential role in ferroptosis; it can be used to determine the Gpx4 as an indicator for determining tumor occurrence and as a means of treating cancer.

Allelic Loss at the GPx-1 Locus in Cancer of the Head and Neck
Biological Trace Element Research, 2004Glutathione peroxidase is a selenium-containing, antioxidant enzyme previously implicated in the risk and development of lung and breast cancer, in part the result of allelic loss at the GPx-1 locus. This study examined allelic loss at the same locus in squamous cell carcinomas of the head and neck.

Gpx 4 is involved in the proliferation, migration and apoptosis of glioma cells
Pathology - Research and Practice, 2017Glioma is one of the most common and aggressive types of human brain tumor, it is important to explore novel glioma-associated genes. In this report, we defined Gpx4 as a therapeutic target for glioma. Western blot and immunohistochemistry(IHC) analysis revealed that the protein level of Gpx4 was higher in glioma tissues and cell lines.

Genetic variations of gpx-4 and male infertility in humans.
Biology of reproduction, 2003Phospholipid hydroperoxide glutathione peroxidase (PHGPx), the product of gpx-4, is the major selenoprotein in sperm and is considered essential for fertilization because of its multiple roles in spermatogenesis, such as hydroperoxide detoxification, formation of the mitochondrial capsule, and chromatin condensation.

Heat exchanger analysis on a MicroVAX II/GPX
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, 1988AbstractThe finite element code FIDAP was used to examine the fluid flow path within a flat plate tube/fin heat exchanger and the resulting heat transfer from the fins and tube walls. The mathematical formulation, mesh development and analysis procedure are presented, and the results obtained are compared with experimental observations of the fluid ...
