Alteration of somatosensory response in adulthood by early life stress.

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Neuroscience, 2015
Early-life stress is well known as a critical risk factor for mental and cognitive disorders in adulthood. Such disorders are accompanied by altered neuro- (synapto-) genesis and gene expression.

Phase Angle as an Early Functional Biomarker of Cancer‐Related Fatigue in Pediatric Oncology: A Prospective Longitudinal Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric cancer remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, particularly in low‐and middle‐income countries. Cancer treatment may impair nutritional status, alter body composition, and exacerbate cancer‐related fatigue (CRF).

ON THE CYLINDRICAL GRAD-SHAFRANOV EQUATION [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics D, 2008
The goal of this paper is to pay attention to the 1D cylindrical version of the Grad-Shafranov (GS) equation. In our opinion, this approach is more rich than classical self-similar ones, and more suitable for the astrophysical jets we observe. In particular, it allows us to describe the central (and, hence, the most energetic) part of the flow.

Effectiveness of Resistance Intradialytic Exercise Compared to Aerobic Intradialytic Exercise for Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis commonly experience reduced physical function, fatigue, poor sleep quality, and impaired health‐related quality of life. Intradialytic exercise has been proposed as a non‐pharmacological strategy to improve these outcomes.

Grad-CAM based Visualization for Interpretable Lung Cancer Categorization using Deep CNN Models

open access: yesJournal of Electronics Electromedical Engineering and Medical Informatics
The Grad-CAM (Gradient-weighted Class Activation Mapping) technique has loomed as a crucial tool for elucidating deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks (CNNs), by visually accentuating the regions of input images that accord ...

Serum Myonectin Levels Are Positively Associated With Physical Function and Lower Frailty‐Related Limitation in Maintenance Hemodialysis Patients: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently suffer from frailty, characterized by reduced physical function and poor prognosis. Myokines, such as myonectin, secreted by muscle, are emerging regulators of systemic health. This study investigated the relationship between serum myonectin, adipokines (adiponectin, omentin), and ...

Polazišta održivoga prostornog razvoja grada

open access: yesProstor, 2001
Promjene okoliša rezultat su načina na koji živimo i koristimo prostor. Svi korisnici prostora moraju postati svjesni ekološke odgovornosti. Ne možemo očekivati da ćemo sve probleme okoliša moći riješiti tehnologijom.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative
