Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

High-Power Continuous-Wave Directly-Diode-Pumped Fiber Raman Lasers

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2015
We describe novel fiber Raman lasers pumped directly by spectrally combined high power multimode laser diodes at 975 nm and emitting at 1019 nm. With a commercial multimode graded-index fiber, we reached 20 W of laser output power with a record slope ...

On the Digital Holographic Interferometry of Fibrous Material, I. Optical Properties of Polymer and Optical Fibers

open access: yes, 2012
The digital holographic interferometry (DHI) was utilized for investigating the optical properties of polymer and optical fibers. The samples investigated here were polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) polymer fiber and graded-index (GRIN) optical fiber.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Numerical Analysis of Optical Fiber Refractive Index in the Miniaturized Graded‐Index Fiber Probe

open access: yesEngineering Reports
We analyze the impact of the refractive index of optical fibers on the focusing properties of a miniaturized graded‐index (GRIN) fiber probe. The ABCD ray transfer matrix and characteristic parameters are employed to characterize the working distance ...

Generation of Narrow Modes in Random Raman Fiber Laser Based on Multimode Fiber

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
We present a new design of a random Raman fiber laser based on a graded-index multimode fiber as the media composing the cavity that allows the generation of narrow spectral lines.

An index theorem in differential K-theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Let X --> B be a proper submersion with a Riemannian structure. Given a differential K-theory class on X, we define its analytic and topological indices as differential K-theory classes on B.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Theory of cw Raman oscillation in optical fibers [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
A theory for Raman fiber laser oscillators is presented. The Stokes output and the residual pump power are shown to be calculable from a knowledge of the input pump power and the fiber characteristics. The evolution of the pump and the Stokes waves along

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...
