Comparison of thyromental height test with ratio of height to thyromental distance, thyromental distance, and modified Mallampati test in predicting difficult laryngoscopy: A prospective study

open access: yesJournal of Anaesthesiology Clinical Pharmacology, 2019
Background and Aims: Preoperative airway assessment to predict patients with difficult laryngoscopy is always crucial for anesthesiologists. Several predictive tests have been studied by various authors in quest of finding the best airway predictor ...

Multiparametric ultrasound: evaluation of greyscale, shear wave elastography and contrast-enhanced ultrasound for prostate cancer detection and localization in correlation to radical prostatectomy specimens

open access: yesBMC Urology, 2018
Background The diagnostic pathway for prostate cancer (PCa) is advancing towards an imaging-driven approach. Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging, although increasingly used, has not shown sufficient accuracy to replace biopsy for now.

Dimension filtration, sequential Cohen--Macaulayness and a new polynomial invariant of graded algebras [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Let $\k$ be a field and let $A$ be a standard $\mathbb{N}$-graded $\k$-algebra. Using numerical information of some invariants in the primary decomposition of $0$ in $A$, namely the so called dimension filtration, we associate a bivariate polynomial $\BW(

Preferences of Pediatric Patients and Their Caregivers for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Control Endpoints: A Mixed Methods Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Although not always achieved, complete chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) control is the conventional goal of CINV prophylaxis. In this two‐center, mixed‐methods study, we sought to understand the preferences of adolescent patients and family caregivers for CINV control endpoints.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Linear resolutions of powers and products

open access: yes, 2016
The goal of this paper is to present examples of families of homogeneous ideals in the polynomial ring over a field that satisfy the following condition: every product of ideals of the family has a linear free resolution.

On the Buchsbaum Associated Graded Modules with Respect to m-Primary Ideals Whose Reduction Numbers Are at Most One

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2000
Let \((A,m)\) be a Noetherian local ring with maximal ideal \(m\) and suppose that the residue field \(A/m\) is infinite. Let \(E\) be a finitely generated \(A\)-module of positive dimension \(s\). \textit{Y. Nakamura} [J. Algebra 209, 345-366 (1998; Zbl 0942.13002)] gave necessary and sufficient conditions for the associated graded rings of \(m ...

What Is the Ideal Tumor Regression Grading System in Rectal Cancer Patients after Preoperative Chemoradiotherapy?

open access: yesCancer research and treatment : official journal of Korean Cancer Association, 2015
Purpose Tumor regression grade (TRG) is predictive of therapeutic response in rectal cancer patients after chemoradiotherapy (CRT) followed by curative resection. However, various TRG systems have been suggested, with subjective categorization, resulting

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Graded early warning for crude oil tanks based on TOPSIS

open access: yesYou-qi chuyun
Objective Given the rise in large-scale and centralized crude oil tanks, along with the physical and chemical properties of crude oil and the intricate nature of tank materials and components, these tanks present substantial risks.
