Characterization of Fusarium root rot disease in grafted watermelon
European Journal of Plant Pathology, 2020Root rot is an emerging disease of grafted watermelon in China that causes severe yield losses. The causal agents associated with this disease were characterized in this study. A total of 70 fungal isolates were recovered from infected roots, and the most prevalent isolates were identified as Fusarium oxysporum (31% of isolates recovered). F. oxysporum

Accumulation of WeatheredP,P′-DDE in Xylem Sap Of Grafted Watermelon
International Journal of Phytoremediation, 2012Movement of weathered p,p'-dichlorodiphenyldichloroethane (p,p'-DDE) from contaminated soil to the rhizosphere pore water to the xylem sap of grafted watermelon was studied under green house conditions. p,p'-DDE concentrations in pore water and xylem sap was compared in intact plants, homografted, and compatible heterografts of Cucurbita pepo spp. pepo

Evaluation of herbicides for selective weed control in grafted watermelons
Phytoparasitica, 2008Grafted watermelon is a combination of two plants, aCucurbita rootstock and a watermelon scion. Therefore, weed control for this crop faces a unique problem: the safety of the selected herbicide has to be tested for both plants that make up the grafted plant.

Investigation on fruit quality of grafted watermelon
2019In this study, grafted and ungrafted watermelon cultivars were grown in Cukurova region to determine fruit pH, titratable acidity, soluble solids, yantioxidant activity, total phenolic compounds and analysis of sensory evaluation. The highest soluble solids (11.32%) and titratable acidity 0.190 g/100g were in seedless cultivars. The highest antioxidant

Development of a Circular Grafting Robotic System for Watermelon Seedlings
Applied Engineering in Agriculture, 2010The aim of this research was to develop a top plug-in grafting robotic system that is applicable for grafting a scion into a mature rootstock before the scion's cotyledons spread. This would require the scion to be very delicate and greatly different from the rootstock in terms of seedling age.

Storage and self life of grafted watermelon
2010Watermelon [Citrullus lanatus (Thunb.) Matsum. & Nakai] fruits from ‘Crimson Tide’ (CT) grafted onto Ferro, RS841, Argentario, and Macis rootstocks and ungrafted CT were compared for their postharvest quality after the following treatments: (1) 7 days at 21°C; (2) 7 days at 27°C; (3) 21 days at 0°C; (4) 21 days at 0°C and subsequent 7 days at 21°C; (5)
