Grain refinement mechanism of nitrogen ion implantation in 7075-T651 aluminum alloy: Insights from the cellular automaton method

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
Ion implantation can strengthen metal surfaces by inducing grain refinement. However, the refinement mechanism remains unclear, which affects the precise application of the process.

Review on Grain Refinement of Metallic Materials to Regulate Cellular Behavior

open access: yesMetals, 2022
Metallic materials have been widely used as orthopedic implants in clinics for their good mechanical, physical, and chemical properties, but their slow osseointegration rate is still one of the main issues causing implantation failure.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Grain refinement of AZ91D alloy by intensive melt shearing and its persistence after remelting and isothermal holding [PDF]

open access: yesChina Foundry, 2013
Intensive melt shearing has a significant grain refining effect on some light alloys. However, the persistence of the grain refining effect during isothermal holding and remelting is still unclear, although it is very important for the practical ...

Effects of grain refinement on cast structure and tensile properties of superalloy K4169 at high pouring temperature [PDF]

open access: yesChina Foundry, 2016
In order to improve the filling ability of large complex thin wall castings, the pouring temperature should be increased, but this will result in the grain coarsening. To overcome this problem, two kinds of grain refiners of Co-Fe-Nb and Cr-Fe-Nb ternary

Remote Monitoring in Myasthenia Gravis: Exploring Symptom Variability

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a rare, autoimmune disorder characterized by fluctuating muscle weakness and potential life‐threatening crises. While continuous specialized care is essential, access barriers often delay timely interventions. To address this, we developed MyaLink, a telemedical platform for MG patients.

Effect of grain refinement on the stress rupture property of K447A alloy

open access: yesJournal of Aeronautical Materials
Grain refinement can effectively enhance mechanical properties of materials at low and medium temperatures, however,it may weaken the stress rupture property above the equicohesive temperature. To study the effect of grain refinement on the stress rupture

Taguchi Approach for Optimization of Parameters that Effect Grain Size of Cast A357 Alloy

open access: yesArchives of Foundry Engineering, 2017
Grain refining and modification are common foundry practice for improving properties of cast Al-Si alloys. In general, these types of treatments provide better fluidity, decreased porosity, higher yield strength and ductility. However, in practice, there
