The nitrogen nutrition of grain sorghum
2023A grain sorghum (Sorghum vulgare Pers.) variety Martin was grown in high and low nitrogen soil with and without soil and foliar application of nitrogen. Plant samples taken at various stages of growth were utilised for the determination of dry weight, moisture, total nitrogen, protein nitrogen and hydrocyanic acid.

EPISTASIS IN GRAIN SORGHUM,SORGHUM BICOLOR
Canadian Journal of Genetics and Cytology, 1974Epistasis, or interaction between nonallelic genes in grain sorghum (S. bicolor (L.) Moench), was estimated by comparing means of 20 balanced sets of single- and 3-way crosses. Each balanced set consisted of three single crosses and three 3-way crosses derived from three of the six parental varieties used.

Sorghum Grain Hybrids in Nigeria
Experimental Agriculture, 1975SUMMARYHybrids made for the first time on six experimental photosensitive sorghum seed parents (whose breeding is described) were tested with their pollen parents, which included good dwarf varieties, in replicated small plot trials at Samaru in 1972. Grain yields of up to 5000 kg./ha.

TRYPSIN INHIBITORS IN SORGHUM GRAIN
Journal of Food Science, 1974The presence of trypsin inhibiting substances was shown in aqueous and acid extracts of sorghum grain powder. Gel filtration of the acid extract showed that the trypsin inhibitors have a broad distribution of molecular weight with the most significant peak of activity centered around 15,000 daltons.
