Yield Attributes Response to Nitrogen Fertilization in Low-Nitrogen Tolerant Hybrid Rice
The development of low-nitrogen (N) tolerant varieties is an effective way to improve the use efficiency of N in rice and is crucial to the sustainable rice production in China.

In a changing climate, extreme weather events such as heatwaves will be more frequent and could affect grain weight and the quality of crops such as wheat, one of the most significant crops in terms of global food security. In this work, we characterized

Summary Wheat is the most widely grown crop globally, providing 20% of all human calories and protein. Achieving step changes in genetic yield potential is crucial to ensure food security, but efforts are thwarted by an apparent trade‐off between grain ...

Genetic variability and correlation analysis of rice (Oryza sativa L.) inbred lines based on agro-morphological traits [PDF]
In order to evaluate genetic variability of agro-morphological traits and also determine the correlation between grain yield with its components in rice lines, 17 recombinants inbred lines, their parents and a check variety were grown in research station

Functional Analysis of OsCIPK17 in Rice Grain Filling
We used mutant cipk17 and Nipponbare in field experiments to analyze agronomic traits, photosynthetic parameters, transcriptome, and gene expression. The results demonstrated cytoplasmic localization of OsCIPK17, while GUS allogeneic (A. thaliana) tissue-

Genetic analysis of grain weight in wheat [PDF]
The reciprocal monosomic analysis (RMA) technique of intervarietal chromosome manipulation was used to investigate the genetic control of grain weight in two varieties of wheat (Spica and Chinese Spring). The method enabled major genetic differences between the two varieties for this quantitative character to be assigned to individual chromosomes.

Cloning of wheat keto-acyl thiolase 2B reveals a role of jasmonic acid in grain weight determination
Grain weight (GW) is one of the component traits of wheat yield. Existing reports have shown that multiple phytohormones are involved in the regulation of GW in different crops. However, the potential role of jasmonic acid (JA) remains unclear.
