Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Implications of a dark grand unification

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Given that dark matter and normal matter are nontrivially unified in a grand unified theory, called dark grand unification, we derive novel residual theories at low energy explaining dark matter and neutrino mass.

Frozen up dilaton and the GUT/Planck mass ratio

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2017
By treating modulus and phase on equal footing, as prescribed by Dirac, local scale invariance can consistently accompany any Brans–Dicke ω-theory. We show that in the presence of a soft scale symmetry breaking term, the classical solution, if it exists,

Proton decay and axion dark matter in SO(10) grand unification via minimal left–right symmetry

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2020
We study the proton lifetime in the SO(10) Grand Unified Theory (GUT), which has the left–right (LR) symmetric gauge theory below the GUT scale. In particular, we focus on the minimal model without the bi-doublet Higgs field in the LR symmetric model ...

Can leptonic mixing matrix have a Wolfenstein form?

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We analyze the possibility of the leptonic mixing matrix having a Wolfenstein form at the Grand Unified Theory scale. The renormalization group evolution of masses and mixing angles from the high scale to electroweak scale, in certain new physics ...

Cell density–dependent nuclear‐cytoplasmic shuttling of SETDB1 integrates with Hippo signaling to regulate YAP1‐mediated transcription

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
At low cell density, SETDB1 and YAP1 accumulate in the nucleus. As cell density increases, the Hippo pathway is gradually activated, and SETDB1 is associated with increased YAP1 phosphorylation. At high cell density, phosphorylated YAP1 is sequestered in the cytoplasm, while SETDB1 becomes polyubiquitinated and degraded by the ubiquitin–proteasome ...

SU(5)×U(1)X grand unification with minimal seesaw and Z′-portal dark matter

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2018
We propose a grand unified SU(5)×U(1)X model, where the standard SU(5) grand unified theory is supplemented by minimal seesaw and a right-handed neutrino dark matter with an introduction of a global Z2-parity.

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

GUT origins of general electroweak multiplets and their oblique parameters

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
We survey the scalar electroweak multiplets that can originate from a grand unified theory (GUT) like SU(5), SO(10) or E6. We compute the oblique parameters S, T and U for a general scalar electroweak multiplet and then apply the results to the ...
