Abstract This study investigates the shear capacity behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) beams without stirrups incorporating recycled coarse aggregate (RCA). An extensive database comprising 269 experimental data points from 40 journal articles published between 2001 and 2025 was compiled, excluding specimens with recycled fine aggregate or fiber ...

Spatiotemporal mapping the usable space of free‐roaming equids across the western United States
Identification of the inter‐decadal (2010‐2011) enhancement‐degradation gradients in the usable space for wild equid Herd Management Areas in the Great Basin, USA. Abstract Management of feral equids in the American West is hindered by the lack of a formal habitat map and monitoring system.

Characterization of mineral wools obtained from ornamental rock wastes
The study aimed to characterize the mineral wools obtained from wastes of the cutting step of marble and granite, in order to evaluate the possibility of their use on an industrial scale. Mixtures of marble and/or granite wastes were prepared in order to

Facilitation influences when trees grow, but not growth rate in a dry temperate forest
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Accurately predicting the role of forests in the global carbon cycle requires a detailed understanding of the factors mediating the timing and magnitude of radial stem growth. While weather conditions and topo‐edaphic factors play a critical role in mediating short‐term

Abstract Marketplaces, crucial sites for low‐income populations as sources of affordable goods and social interaction, are at a critical juncture. They are experiencing decline due to the rise of shopping centres and neglect by public authorities, while at the same time being rediscovered as tourist attractions, sources of profit and tools for urban ...

ALL POSSIBLE PASTS: Heritage, Simulacra, and Gentrification in Seoul
Abstract Urban heritage scholars have often criticized simulacra as ‘bad’ copies that degrade the ‘good’ model of the past through commercialization and gentrification. This article challenges such Platonic dichotomies of good/bad and model/copy, arguing that the binary of good heritage and bad simulacra is flawed because heritage is itself actualized ...

Automated particle analysis of D.B. Cooper's tie
Abstract Automated particle analysis (APA) using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy‐dispersive x‐ray spectrometry (EDS) is a well‐known method in forensics, especially as it is applied to gunshot residue analysis. Here we describe the analysis of particles lifted from D.B. Cooper's tie, which was left on the hijacked plane in 1971.
