Time Granularity

open access: yes, 2005
A temporal situation can be described at different levels of abstraction depending on the accuracy required or the available knowledge. Time granularity can be defined as the resolution power of the temporal qualification of a statement. Providing a formalism with the concept of time granularity makes it possible to model time information with respect ...

Granularity in granular cell ameloblastoma

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy And Bioallied Sciences, 2014
Granular cell ameloblastoma (GCA) is one of the rare histological variants of ameloblastoma (1.5-3.5%), identified by Krompechner in 1918 and is diagnosed by the characteristic presence of granular cells. These granular cells are seen in several physiological and pathological conditions and the granularity in GCA is due to lysosomal aggregates.

Characteristics of Gas Adsorption Kinetics of Coal Particles with Different Sizes Based on Dual Combined First-order Rate Function

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan, 2020
In this paper, based on the adsorption tests of coal particles with different sizes, dual combined first-order rate function model is established to calculate and analyze the gas adsorption process of coal particle.

On granular elasticity [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2015
AbstractMesoscopic structures form in dense granular materials due to the self-organisation of the constituent particles. These structures have internal structural degrees of freedom in addition to the translational degree of freedom. The resultant granular elasticity, which exhibits intrinsic variations and inevitable relaxation, is a key quantity ...

Granular Computing [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Workshop on Hot Topics in Operating Systems, 2019
Granular computing is a new style of computing where applications are composed of large numbers (thousands to millions) of very short-lived (10-100μs) tasks. Today's systems and infrastructure were designed to support millisecond-scale operations and are inadequate to meet the demands of granular computing.

An evaluation of soil retention potential as an important factor of water balance in the landscape

open access: yesMoravian Geographical Reports, 2016
The ability of soil to retain water in its profile is one of the most important soil functions. It is expressed as the water storage capacity or retention capacity of the soil, and it is primarily affected by the physical properties of the soil.
