Analysis of Coinfection Pathogens From Foot-and-Mouth Disease Virus Persistently Infected Cattle Using Oxford Nanopore Sequencing. [PDF]
The persistent infection caused by foot‐and‐mouth disease virus (FMDV) still lacks a reliable explanation, as its etiology and maintenance are intricate and potentially involve concurrent infections with multiple pathogens. In this study, we utilized the nanopore platform for direct sequencing of clinical samples obtained from cattle persistently ...

Genomic sequence analysis of granulovirus isolated from the tobacco cutworm, Spodoptera litura. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Spodoptera litura is a noctuid moth that is considered an agricultural pest. The larvae feed on a wide range of plants and have been recorded on plants from 40 plant families (mostly dicotyledons). It is a major pest of many crops.

Abstract Background It has been estimated that microorganisms are involved in the pathogenesis of approximately 20% of all cancers. Testicular germ cell tumours (TGCTs) are the most common type of malignancy in young men and arise from the precursor cell, germ cell neoplasia in situ (GCNIS).

NezhNPV, a new biocontrol agent for Nesodiprion zhejiangensis Zhou & Xiao (Hymenoptera: Diprionidae), an emerging forest pest. [PDF]
Here, a naturally occurring baculovirus and a new biocontrol agent, NezhNPV, which infects a multivoltine forest pest, Nesodiprion zhejiangenis, was characterized by field efficacy trial, electron microscopy and genome sequencing. Abstract BACKGROUND Nesodiprion zhejiangensis, a multivoltine sawfly, is widely distributed in south China and has caused ...

Baculoviruses are used for pest control in agroecosystems, where parasitoids are present. We assessed whether parasitoids discriminate against virus‐infected hosts and examined the effect of the virus on parasitoid offspring. We found few indirect effects of the virus on the parasitoids, indicating that both agents can be combined.
