A single sex-linked dominant gene does not fully explain the codling moth's resistance to granulovirus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Background: In 2004, resistance to a commercial formulation of the Cydia pomonella granulovirus (CpGV) was identified in a field population of Cydia pomonella from an organic orchard in southern France.

Sequence Analysis of the Plutella xylostella Granulovirus Genome

open access: yesVirology, 2000
The Plutella xylostella granulovirus (PxGV) genome DNA was sequenced and the predicted open reading frames (ORFs) were compared to genes of the first-sequenced GV, Xestia c-nigrum GV (XcGV), and those from other baculoviruses and organisms. PxGV DNA has a size of 100,999 bp with a G + C content of 40.7%.

granulovirus in Europe [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
International audienceThirty-five codling moth (CM, Cydia pomonella L., Lepidoptera, Tortricidae) populations collected in different commercial orchards in six European countries were tested for their susceptibility to Cydia pomonella granulovirus (CpGV ...

New Cydia pomonella granulovirus strain with high entomopathogenic activity. [PDF]

open access: yesMicrobiol Resour Announc
ABSTRACT We report a genome of CpGV from the bioresource collection of the Federal Research Center of Biological Plant Protection “State Collection of Entomoacariphages and Microorganisms.” Its sequence is 123,862 bp.

An immunological method for granulovirus detection in larvae of Tuta absoluta: searching for isolates with prospects for biological control of this pest in Colombia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
International audienceThe tomato leafminer Tuta absoluta is an important insect pest of tomato crops worldwide. Biological control using entomopathogenic viruses such as isolates of Phthorimaea operculella granulovirus (PhopGV) can be a promising tool ...

Sequence analysis of the Choristoneura occidentalis granulovirus genome

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 2006
The genome of the Choristoneura occidentalis granulovirus (ChocGV) isolated from the western spruce budworm, Choristoneura occidentalis, was sequenced completely. It was 104 710 bp long, with a 67.3 % A+T content and contained 116 potential open reading frames (ORFs) covering 88.4 % of the genome. Of these, 29 ORFs were conserved in all fully sequenced

Molecular biology of baculovirus and its use in biological control in Brazil Biologia molecular de baculovírus e seu uso no controle biológico de pragas no Brasil

open access: yesPesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira, 1999
Baculoviruses are insect viruses found mainly in Lepidoptera. The family Baculoviridae is taxonomically divided in two genera, Nucleopolyhedrovirus and Granulovirus, which differ by occlusion body morphology.
