Abstract Grapevine flack virus (GFkV) causes fleck disease and leads to severe symptoms when the infection occurs with multiple viruses. Restricting the propagation of GFkV‐infected grapevines is the ideal management strategy to control the spread of this virus.

Assessment of Grapevine Fleck Virus (GFkV) infection in Algerian vineyards
Acta Phytopathologica Et Entomologica HungaricaAbstractThis study investigates the prevalence and genetic characterization of Grapevine Fleck Virus (GFkV) in major Algerian vineyards. A total of 430 grapevine samples from 12 regions were analyzed using serological (DAS-ELISA), molecular (RT-PCR), and high-throughput sequencing (Illumina-NGS) methods.

Ten stable hybridoma cell lines secreting monoclonal antibodies to grapevine fleck virus (GFkV) were selected after fusing spleen cells of immunized Balb/C mice with mouse myeloma cells (SP2/0-Ag 14). All MAbs reacted positively in ELISA with leaf extracts from fifty GFkV-infected grapevines from various geographical origins.

Grapevine Fleck Virus Isolates Split into Two Distinct Molecular Groups
Journal of Phytopathology, 2011AbstractAlthough Grapevine fleck virus (GFkV) has a worldwide distribution, data about its molecular variability are very scarce. A genome region encoding the central part of the capsid protein gene was amplified from 36 GFkV isolates recovered from a relatively restricted area (Slovakia and the Czech Republic).

SummaryA region encoding the putative RNA replicase domain of Grapevine fleck virus (GFkV) was amplified from infected grapevine samples using the reverse transcription‐polymerase chain reaction (RT‐PCR). Two different sizes of virus specific PCR products were consistently detected in different grapevine varieties using the same pair of primers.

Grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) is an economically important crop and can host several different viruses, including those ones that have to be excluded from the certified propagating material in Europe. Among these, the Vitivirus Grapevine virus A (GVA) and the Maculavirus Grapevine fleck virus (GFkV) are phloem-limited viruses that are associated with ...
