First Report of Grapevine fleck virus from Washington Vineyards

open access: yesPlant Disease, 2010
Grapevine fleck virus (GFkV) is a positive-sense, single-stranded RNA virus with a genome size of 7,564 nucleotides (3). The virus is present in many grape-growing regions (1,2,4). GFkV is phloem-limited and graft transmissible, but a biological vector is not yet known (4).

Elimination of grapevine fleck virus and grapevine rupestris stem pitting-associated virus from Vitis vinifera 87-1 by ribavirin combined with thermotherapy

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2021
Abstract Vitis vinifera 87-1 plants infected by grapevine fleck virus (GFkV) and grapevine rupestris stem pitting-associated virus (GRSPaV) were used as the plant materials for virus elimination treatment. This study evaluated the effects of ribavirin at different concentrations (15 and 25 µg mL−1; R15 and R25, respectively), thermotherapy (37°C; T),

Detecção e identificação molecular de vírus associados a videiras sintomáticas e assintomáticas Molecular detection and identification of virus associated with symptomatic and symptomless grapevines

open access: yesCiência Rural, 2010
A propagação vegetativa da videira favorece infecções virais múltiplas, com expressão diferencial de sintomas em função da combinação da cultivar ou espécie da hospedeira com a espécie viral.

First Report of Grapevine virus A and Grapevine fleck virus in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia

open access: yesPlant Disease, 2014
Grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) is an economically important crop and can host several different viruses, including those that have to be excluded from certified propagating material in Europe. Among these, the Vitivirus Grapevine virus A (GVA) and the Maculavirus Grapevine fleck virus (GFkV) are phloem-limited viruses that are associated with two ...

Distinct Responses of Vitis aestivalis ‘Norton’ and Vitis vinifera ‘Kishmish Vatkana’ to Seven Viruses Revealed by Small RNA Sequencing

open access: yesPhytobiomes Journal, 2021
Grapevines are frequently infected by multiple viruses. Our previous study showed that Norton grapevine (Vitis aestivalis) is resistant to grapevine vein clearing virus (GVCV), a DNA virus in the family Caulimoviridae.
