Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

TOWARDS A SPECTRUM OF GRAPH CONVOLUTIONAL NETWORKS [PDF]

open access: yes2018 IEEE Data Science Workshop (DSW), 2018
We present our ongoing work on understanding the limitations of graph convolutional networks (GCNs) as well as our work on generalizations of graph convolutions for representing more complex node attribute dependencies. Based on an analysis of GCNs with the help of the corresponding computation graphs, we propose a generalization of existing GCNs where

Evaluation of in vitro toxicity of common phytochemicals included in weight loss supplements using 1H NMR spectroscopy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We investigated the toxicity of 12 active compounds commonly found in herbal weight loss supplements (WLS) using human liver and colon cell models. Epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate was the only compound showing significant toxicity. Metabolic profiling revealed protein degradation, disrupted energy and lipid metabolism suggesting that the inclusion of EGCG ...

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Exploring spectrum-based descriptors in pharmacological traits through quantitative structure property (QSPR) analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
The study centered on Quantitative Structure Property Relationship (QSPR) analysis with a focus on various graph energies, investigating drugs like Mefloquinone, Sertraline, Niclosamide, Tizoxanide, PHA-690509, Ribavirin, Emricasan, and Sofosbuvir ...

MiR‐513a promotes human erythroid differentiation by modulating c‐Jun

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
During early human erythropoiesis, miR‐513a promoted erythroid differentiation in primary human CD34+ hematopoietic stem‐progenitor cells and human TF‐1 erythroleukemic cells by indirectly decreasing c‐Jun and phospho‐c‐Jun expression, which are associated with increased GATA1 expression.

On the Displacement of Eigenvalues When Removing a Twin Vertex

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae Graph Theory, 2020
Twin vertices of a graph have the same open neighbourhood. If they are not adjacent, then they are called duplicates and contribute the eigenvalue zero to the adjacency matrix.

Age‐Related Characteristics of SYT1‐Associated Neurodevelopmental Disorder

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives We describe the clinical manifestations and developmental abilities of individuals with SYT1‐associated neurodevelopmental disorder (Baker‐Gordon syndrome) from infancy to adulthood. We further describe the neuroradiological and electrophysiological characteristics of the condition at different ages, and explore the associations ...

Some new bounds on resolvent energy of a graph

open access: yesOpen Mathematics
Let GG be a simple graph of order nn with eigenvalues λ1≥λ2≥…≥λn.{\lambda }_{1}\ge {\lambda }_{2}\ge \ldots \ge {\lambda }_{n}. The resolvent energy of GG is a spectrum-based graph invariant defined as ER(G)=∑i=1n(n−λi)−1.{\rm{ER}}(G)={\sum }_{i=1}^{n ...
