Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Extending the planar theory of anyons to quantum wire networks

open access: yesSciPost Physics
The braiding of the worldlines of particles restricted to move on a network (graph) is governed by the graph braid group, which can be strikingly different from the standard braid group known from two-dimensional physics.

P-graph for Optimising Industrial Symbiotic Networks

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2015
Industrial symbiosis (IS) intends to reduce the consumption of resources as well as reduce the generation of waste streams through utilising by-products of other firms as raw materials of another firm. Mathematical optimisation models have been developed

Fast Spectral Approximation of Structured Graphs with Applications to Graph Filtering

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2020
To analyze and synthesize signals on networks or graphs, Fourier theory has been extended to irregular domains, leading to a so-called graph Fourier transform.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Irregular Pythagorean Neutrosophic Graphs [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems
Pythagorean Neutrosophic Fuzzy Graphs integrate the concepts of Pythagorean neutrosophic sets and graph theory to effectively represent imprecise, inconsistent, and vague information inherent in many real-world problems.
