Evaluation of graphical and statistical representation of analytical signals of spectrophotometric methods

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2017
Simultaneous determination of miconazole (MIC), mometasone furaoate (MF), and gentamicin (GEN) in their pharmaceutical combination. Gentamicin determination is based on derivatization with of o-phthalaldehyde reagent (OPA) without any interference of other cited drugs, while the spectra of MIC and MF are resolved using both successive and progressive ...

Some graphical methods in statistics: A review and some extensions

Statistica Neerlandica, 1977
Summary  A review of some graphical methods for comparing two populations is given. The methods are applied to survival times of radiated and control mice and some results concerning the model and the effect of radiation are obtained. An extension to methods for several populations is derived and a partial table for carrying it out is given.

A Model for Studying Display Methods of Statistical Graphics

Journal of Computational and Graphical Statistics, 1993
Abstract A method of statistical graphics consists of two parts: a selection of statistical information to be displayed and a selection of a visual display method to encode the information. Some display methods lead to efficient, accurate visual decoding of encoded information, and others lead to inefficient, inaccurate decoding.

Graphical method for comparative statistical study of vaccine potency tests

Vaccine, 1984
Producers and consumers are interested in some of the intrinsic characteristics of vaccine potency assays for the comparative evaluation of suitable experimental design. A graphical method is developed which represents the precision of test results, the sensitivity of such results to changes in dosage, and the relevance of the results in the way they ...

Progress with Numerical and Graphical Methods for Practical Bayesian Statistics

The Statistician, 1987
One of the main obstacles to the routine implementation of Bayesian methods has been the absence of efficient algorithms for carrying out the computational tasks implicit in the Bayesian approach. In this paper, recent progress towards overcoming this problem is reviewed.

Some Remarks on the Role in Statistics of Graphical Methods

Applied Statistics, 1978
SUMMARY Graphical methods are useful in statistics in exploratory analysis and in the presentation of conclusions, and to a more limited extent in very specific analyses. After some historical remarks, some general rules and principles are outlined.

Applications of a New Graphic Method in Statistical Measurement

Journal of the American Statistical Association, 1957
By virtue of simplicity and generality of the principle it supplies, a note by S. I. Askovitz which appeared in Science early in 1955 promises to become a new starting point toward the development of a "geometry of statistics."2 While ad hoc graphic procedures have been used in statistics all along, they involve either theoretically crude ...

Graphical and Statistical Methods for Determining the Consistency of Age Determinations

Transactions of the American Fisheries Society, 1995
Abstract Many laboratories rely on periodic rereading of reference collections of scales or otoliths to ensure that their age readers remain consistent in their age interpretations, both through time and with other age readers. Measures of both systematic difference (bias) and precision are required for this purpose, because measures of bias are not ...

A graphical method of objective forecasting derived by statistical techniques

Quarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, 1961
AbstractThe objective forecasting technique described consists of a composite diagram from which the forecast value of the predictand can be read directly, given the values of the predictors. Each section of the diagram combines a new predictor with an estimate of the predictand obtained from the previous sections.
