EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Domain-Incremental Learning Paradigm for scene understanding via Pseudo-Replay Generation

open access: yesGraphical Models
Scene understanding is a computer vision task that involves grasping the pixel-level distribution of objects. Unlike most research focuses on single-scene models, we consider a more versatile proposal: domain-incremental learning for scene understanding.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

TerraCraft: City-scale generative procedural modeling with natural languages

open access: yesGraphical Models
Automated generation of large-scale 3D scenes presents a significant challenge due to the resource-intensive training and datasets required. This is in sharp contrast to the 2D counterparts that have become readily available due to their superior speed ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Deep Probabilistic Graphical Modeling

open access: yesCoRR, 2020
Probabilistic graphical modeling (PGM) provides a framework for formulating an interpretable generative process of data and expressing uncertainty about unknowns, but it lacks flexibility. Deep learning (DL) is an alternative framework for learning from data that has achieved great empirical success in recent years.

Motion-robust multi-exposure HDR computational imaging based on gated Swin Transformer

open access: yesGraphical Models
Fusing a sequence of static images captured at various exposures, has shown great potential to approach High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging. However, in the presence of large motion, mis-alignment is almost inevitable and leads to the ghost artifacts ...

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Adaptive mesh-aligned Gaussian Splatting for monocular human avatar reconstruction

open access: yesGraphical Models
Virtual human avatars are essential for applications such as gaming, augmented reality, and virtual production. However, existing methods struggle to achieve high fidelity reconstruction from monocular input while keeping hardware costs low.
