Comparative investigation of the morphology of nickel- and copper-graphite

Carbon, 1991
Abstract In view of the considerable activation effects observed with various metals and metal combinations on graphite, recent applications in interesting chemical transformations called for an investigation of the kind of distribution and the degree of dispersion of both nickel and copper.

MORPHOLOGICAL FEATURES OF GRAPHITE MANIFESTATION IN EXPERIMENTS WITH SURFACE GRAPHITIZATION OF SYNTHETIC DIAMONDS

Geology and mineral resources of Siberia
The results of studying the surface graphitization of diamonds by optical and scanning electron microscopy in various experimentally realized conditions are presented: at 2–4 GPa, 1450–1550 °C in carbonate medium and at 1000 °C and atmospheric pressure in a flowing medium of wet argon.

Morphology of platinum clusters on graphite at different loadings

Surface Science, 1996
Abstract Molecular dynamics simulations of platinum atoms on a graphite surface have been performed with different coverages of platinum. The Sutton-Chen many body potential was used for the PtPt interaction whereas a Steele potential with an energy minima representing adsorption sites was used to represent the carbon surface.

Morphology of graphite in hot-compressed nodular iron

Journal of Materials Science, 2004
Bulk material processed by the severe plastic deformation (SPD) technique were found possessing unique physical and mechanical properties [1–3]. SPD material were either nonferrous metal or soft steel. Recently, some researchers attempted to apply this technique to hard-to-work materials [4].

MORPHOLOGY OF PLATINUM CLUSTERS BETWEEN GRAPHITE WALLS

MOLECULAR SIMULATION, 1995
We report molecular dynamics simulations results for platinum atoms confined between two parallel graphite surfaces. The structural and thermodynamic properties of the platinum atoms are studied using gap widths in the range of 9 to 20 sigma(pp). The results show that a small gap width will enhance the tendency of Pt atoms to form a single cluster or ...

Graphite morphology in hypereutectic synthetic cast iron

2017
The formation data of spherical graphite in hypereutectic synthetic cast irons, which were melted using high purity charge materials, were shown. The graphite inclusions in hypereutectic synthetic high-strength cast iron growth at high crystallization speed by dendritic mechanism were confirmed.
