A Mid-Infrared Narrowband Absorber Based on a Subwavelength Fine-Structured Silicon–Gold Metagrating

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
A subwavelength fine-structured silicon−gold metagrating was designed for realizing mid-infrared (mid-IR) narrowband absorbers. The metagrating consisted of a silicon grating on the stack of a gold film and a quartz substrate.

Inverse design and implementation of a wavelength demultiplexing grating coupler [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2014
Nanophotonics has emerged as a powerful tool for manipulating light on chips. Almost all of today's devices, however, have been designed using slow and ineffective brute-force search methods, leading in many cases to limited device performance.

Wavelength‐Dependent Differential Amplification of Raman Scattering by Chiral Gold Nanorods for Multiplexed Encoding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The SERS spectra of reporter molecules adsorbed on chiral gold nanorods depends on the handedness of circularly polarized light (CPL‐SERS). The bisignate plasmonic CD spectra of chiral nanorods provides wavelength‐dependent CPL‐SERS. Selective discrimination of chiral nanorod handedness and different Raman reporters allow highly sensitive codification ...

Design and fabrication of a two dimentional grating light valve using temperature dependence of the refractive index of liquids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Design and fabrication of a two dimensional tuneable grating has been proposed. A transmissive 2D square well grating is fabricated. The holes of the grating then is filled with a liquid which it’s refractive index is depend on the temperature.

Mechanically Tunable Bone Scaffolds: In Vivo Hardening of 3D‐Printed Calcium Phosphate/Polycaprolactone Inks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D bone scaffold with osteogenic properties and capable of hardening in vivo is developed. The scaffold is implanted in a ductile state, and a phase transformation of the ceramic induces the stiffening and strengthening of the scaffold in vivo. Abstract Calcium phosphate 3D printing has revolutionized customized bone grafting.

Analytically Regularized Evaluation of the Coupling of Planar Concentric Conducting Rings

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
In this paper, an accurate and efficient method for the analysis of coupled perfectly conducting annular rings is presented. The problem is first formulated as a couple of Integral Equation (IEs) in the Vector Hankel Transform (VHT) domain, considered as

Quadratic behavior of fiber Bragg grating temperature coefficients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We describe the characterization of the temperature and strain responses of fiber Bragg grating sensors by use of an interferometric interrogation technique to provide an absolute measurement of the grating wavelength. The fiber Bragg grating temperature

Positive‐Tone Nanolithography of Antimony Trisulfide with Femtosecond Laser Wet‐Etching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A butyldithiocarbamic acid (BDCA) etchant is used to fabricate various micro‐ and nanoscale structures on amorphous antimony trisulfide (a‐Sb2S3) thin film via femtosecond laser etching. Numerical analysis and experimental results elucidate the patterning mechanism on gold (reflective) and quartz (transmissive) substrates.
