Root Gravitropism: Quantification, Challenges, and Solutions [PDF]
Better understanding of root traits such as root angle and root gravitropism will be crucial for development of crops with improved resource use efficiency. This chapter describes a high-throughput, automated image analysis method to trace Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) seedling roots grown on agar plates.

Abstract Marine animal forests (MAFs) are benthic ecosystems dominated by vertically structuring filter‐ and suspension‐feeders. As terrestrial forests, they are considered biodiversity hotspots, forming canopies, serving as a refuge, nursery, reproduction and feeding shelters for many species.

Auxin fluxes in the root apex co-regulate gravitropism and lateral root initiation [PDF]
International audienceRoot architecture plays an important role in water and nutrient acquisition and in the ability of the plant to adapt to the soil. Lateral root development is the main determinant of the shape of the root system and is controlled by ...

Characterization of a Novel Creeping Tartary Buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum) Mutant lazy1
Gravity is known as an important environmental factor involved in the regulation of plant architecture. To identify genes related to the gravitropism of Tartary buckwheat, a creeping line was obtained and designated as lazy1 from the mutant bank by 60Co ...

Linking Superoxide Production and Scavenging in Plant Development
ABSTRACT Due to their strong oxidizing potential, rapid membrane permeability, and high reactivity, reactive oxygen species (ROS) play essential roles in plant development and stress responses. Superoxide (O2•‐) is a primary product of molecular oxygen reduction and a crucial source of hydrogen peroxide, representing a ROS species of substantial ...

Complementation of the embryo-lethal T-DNA insertion mutant of AUXIN-BINDING-PROTEIN 1 (ABP1) with abp1 point mutated versions reveals crosstalk of ABP1 and phytochromes [PDF]
The function of the extracytoplasmic AUXIN-BINDING-PROTEIN1 (ABP1) is largely enigmatic. We complemented a homozygous T-DNA insertion null mutant of ABP1 in Arabidopsis thaliana Wassilewskia with three mutated and one wild-type (wt) ABP1 cDNA, all tagged

Plant subtilases as key initiators of peptide ligand‐receptor signaling
SUMMARY Peptide ligand‐receptor signaling plays a crucial role in regulating diverse biological processes in plants. Over the past three decades, numerous peptide ligands and their corresponding receptors have been identified, and our understanding of their downstream signaling pathways and biological functions has gradually advanced.
