N-body gravity and the Schrödinger equation [PDF]

open access: yesClassical and Quantum Gravity, 2007
We consider the problem of the motion of $N$ bodies in a self-gravitating system in two spacetime dimensions. We point out that this system can be mapped onto the quantum-mechanical problem of an N-body generalization of the problem of the H$_{2}^{+}$ molecular ion in one dimension.

Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.

Gravity Equations: Workhorse,Toolkit, and Cookbook [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Abstract This chapter focuses on the estimation and interpretation of gravity equations for bilateral trade. This necessarily involves a careful consideration of the theoretical underpinnings since it has become clear that naive approaches to estimation lead to biased and frequently misinterpreted results.

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Time–space fractional (2+1) $(2+1)$ dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equation for envelope gravity waves in baroclinic atmosphere and conservation laws as well as exact solutions

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2018
In this article, nonlinear propagation of envelope gravity waves is studied in baroclinic atmosphere. The classical (2+1) $(2+1)$ dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation can be derived by using the multiple-scale, perturbation method.

Transfer Printing and Reconfiguration of Soft Electronics Using Digital Microfluidics and Laser Machining

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a digital microfluidics‐based technique for transferring and reconfiguring soft nanomembranes. Laser‐machined nanothin membranes are picked up, transported, and aligned via tailored surface tension and the actuation of water droplets, enabling the development of flexible electronics, the integration of functional materials on 3D ...

3D Printing Innovations in Polymeric Porous and Patterned Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polymeric foams occupy a unique structural space between dense solids and open networks, where engineered void fraction governs mechanical compliance, thermal resistance, and mass transport. Additive manufacturing now enables precise spatial control over cellular architecture, unlocking designer foam structures across applications spanning crash ...

Digitizing the Filtration Interface: A Smart, Modular Janus Wood Platform for Self‐Reporting Oil/Water Remediation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work developed a smart Janus wood membrane integrating asymmetric wettability with built‐in electrical sensing for oil‐water separation. The membrane achieved > 99.5% separation efficiency and high flux by leveraging wood's natural anisotropic pore structure.

International trade without CES : estimating translog gravity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper derives a micro-founded gravity equation in general equilibrium based on a translog demand system that allows for endogenous markups and substitution patterns across goods. In contrast to standard CES-based gravity equations, trade is more
