Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Strength of 3D‐Printed Iron Polylactic Acid for Marine Applications via Laser Surface Texturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.

Method of discrete approximations of gravity field on delineation of promising sections

open access: yesГеофизический журнал, 2014
The theme considered in the article is connected with the numerical solution of Laplas equation while solving the problem of gravimetry. It is shown, that the use of a method of discrete approximations reduces a problem of restoration of values of a ...

A Weak Gravity Conjecture for Scalar Field Theories

open access: yes, 2007
We show that the recently proposed weak gravity conjecture\cite{AMNV0601} can be extended to a class of scalar field theories. Taking gravity into account, we find an upper bound on the gravity interaction strength, expressed in terms of scalar coupling ...

Evaluation of the Potential of Laser Shock Peening Compared with Cold Expansion for Improving Fatigue Resistance of Riveted Lap Joints of Aerospace Grade 7175 Al Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser shock peening for enhancing fatigue performance of riveted aerospace aluminum joints. A comparative approach with cold expansion combines fatigue testing and synchrotron X‐ray methods. Integrating mechanical testing with residual stress and strain characterization provides insights into how different treatments affect the ...

Induced Gravity and Topological Quantum Field Theory

open access: yes, 2016
We construct an induced gravity (pregeometry) where both the Newton constant and the cosmological constant appear as integration constants in solving field equations.

Is Young's Modulus a Critical Coating Property Determining Fouling‐Release Performance of Marine Coatings?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The release of foulers from protective marine coatings is determined by several interrelated material properties, including the strength of Young's modulus, the flexibility of chain segments, the surface free energy, and the magnitude of hydrodynamic stress.

Precise levelling data processing near terraced landforms

open access: yesGeodesy and Cartography, 2014
Precise levelling results are affected by the Earth’s gravity field, especially in areas of abrupt changes of landscape, such as terraced landforms. To eliminate the effect of the gravity field gradient, corrections need to be used in precise levelling ...

Non-Minimal Warm Inflation and Perturbations on the Warped DGP Brane with Modified Induced Gravity

open access: yes, 2010
We construct a warm inflation model with inflaton field non-minimally coupled to induced gravity on a warped DGP brane. We incorporate possible modification of the induced gravity on the brane in the spirit of $f(R)$-gravity.
