Utilization of black soldier flies to reduce grease waste and support zero waste [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Recycling of Organic Waste in Agriculture, 2023
Purpose: This study analyzed the ability of Black Soldier Flies Larvae (BSFL) in reducing grease waste and the effect of variation in feed composition on the growth rate effect of larvae age at 8 days, 12 days, and 16 days.Method: Before reaching the specified age (8, 12, or 16 days), the larvae are fed a mixture of expired bread and expired milk. Biodiesel production from animal grease wastes by enzymatic catalysis

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 2009
Animal grease wastes were successfully used in the transesterification reaction as an alternative raw material for biodiesel production. Transesterification reactions were performed using an enzymatic catalysis with two commercial lipases N435 and RM IM. N435 was the most efficient in a solvent free system as well as in the system with terbuthanol.

THERMAL STABILITY STUDY OF GREASE FORMULATED FROM INDUSTRIAL WASTE OIL

open access: yesPlatform : A Journal of Engineering, 2020
This is aimed to investigate the effect of additives on thermal stability of grease formulated with waste transformer oil (WTO). One of the key factors of grease functionality is thermal stability. Grease is unsuitable for high-temperature use if the matrix is unable to withstand high temperature.

Energy potential of household fats, oils and grease waste [PDF]

open access: yesWater and Environment Journal, 2021
AbstractIn comparison to fats, oils and grease (FOG) found in commercial and industrial effluents, very little is known about FOG discharged at household level. To address this shortcoming, household FOG production was calculated following a year‐long monthly collection at 2.3 kg/year per household, equivalent to 0.8 kg/year per capita.

The effects of additives on anti-wear properties of lubricating grease formulated from waste engine oil

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Petroleum, 2022
The goal of this study was to study the anti-wear properties of grease formulated from waste engine oil (WEO) when additives are added. There were two types of grease formulated namely sodium and fumed silica (FS) greases.
