Biodegradation of waste grease by Penicillium chrysogenum for production of fatty acid

Bioresource Technology, 2017
The aim of present work was to effectively remediate grease waste by Penicillium chrysogenum. For efficient degradation, grease waste was pre-treated using various lipases, among them lipolase was the best. The pretreated grease was used as a substrate by P. chrysogenum resulting into the production of fatty acids.

Characterisation of FOGs in grease trap waste from the processing of chickens in Thailand

Waste Management, 2014
Industrial firms that kill and process chickens generate wastewater that contains fat, oil, and grease (FOG). The FOGs are located in the fatty waste that is collected by floatation in grease traps. Chemical and physical characterisation of FOGs would provide useful information that would help in the development of methods designed to decrease the ...

Determining the limits of anaerobic co-digestion of thickened waste activated sludge with grease interceptor waste

Water Research, 2013
Anaerobic co-digestion of thickened waste activated sludge (TWAS) with grease interceptor waste (GIW) from a food service establishment was conducted in lab scale semi-continuous digesters. GIW included the entire contents of the grease interceptor (GI) including fat, oil, and grease (FOG), food residuals, and associated wastewater.

Evaluation of Techniques Used for Parameters Estimation: an Application to Bioremediation of Grease Waste

Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2012
In the present work, evaluation of different conventional techniques, i.e., chemical oxygen demand (COD), biological oxygen demand, elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), and gas chromatography used for estimating biodegradation of grease waste was carried out.

Conversion of Waste Transformer Oil into Grease

2020
This work is aimed to study the viability of waste transformer oil (WTO) as grease’s base oil. The shift of lubricant formulation towards high-performance materials and green formulation has led to the development of various lubricant formulations, including grease. Waste reduction is one of the formulation research trends where waste-based material, i.
