Engineered surface strategies to manage dental implant‐related infections
Abstract When exposed to the oral environment, dental implants, like natural surfaces, become substrates for microbial adhesion and accumulation, often leading to implant‐related infections—one of the main causes of implant failure. These failures impose significant costs on patients, clinicians, and healthcare systems.

MASS REARING OF THE GREATER WAX MOTH, Galleria mellonella L. [PDF]
This study was conducted to investigate the suitability of three suggested artificial diets prepared for mass rearing of the greater wax moth, Galleria mellonella L. to meet with the higher demand for mass multiplication of entomopathogenic nematodes as well as many parasitoids for insect biological control purposes.

Esterase Activity in the Greater Wax Moth Larvae [PDF]
Some properties of esterases of the greater wax moth larvae, Galleria mellonela (L.), were examined and the enzymes partially purified. Several buffer systems were tried and it was found that tris buffer was most suitable.

Genome‐wide systematic annotation identified 81 odorant receptors (ORs) and 49 odorant‐binding proteins (OBPs) in the tobacco budworm, Chloridea virescens. Phylogenetic analyses revealed chemosensory gene diversification in Heliothinae and extensive lineage‐specific duplications in C.

ABSTRACT Rising global temperatures increasingly threaten bean production and the food security of millions of people who depend on these protein‐rich legumes. Heat stress during the reproductive stages induces pollen sterility, flower abscission, and disruptions in source–sink relationships, resulting in yield losses of 30%–40% or more when critical ...

Loxomerus antipodes Liebherr and Marris, sp. nov. (Coleoptera: Carabidae), is described from the New Zealand subantarctic Antipodes Islands archipelago. Loxomerus antipodes, sp. nov., was considered conspecific with Loxomerus brevis Blanchard, 1853, from the Auckland Islands, but it is diagnosed from that sister taxon based on numerous anatomical ...

Edible Insect Allergens: An Emerging Food Safety Challenge
Allergic responses to edible insects arise via two main pathways: cross‐reactivity with homologous arthropod allergens and primary sensitization to edible insect proteins, both leading to IgE‐mediated immune activation. ABSTRACT Edible insects are increasingly promoted as sustainable protein sources; however, their allergenic potential remains a ...

ABSTRACT The breeding systems of Lutruwita/Tasmania's threatened Epacris taxa are poorly known. Our main objective was to determine the pollinators of several endemic species and explore for relationships between pollinators, floral morphology, flowering time and habitat. The Epacris have limited variation in floral traits and exhibit generalist floral
