Partitioning edge-coloured complete graphs into monochromatic cycles and paths

open access: yes, 2012
A conjecture of Erd\H{o}s, Gy\'arf\'as, and Pyber says that in any edge-colouring of a complete graph with r colours, it is possible to cover all the vertices with r vertex-disjoint monochromatic cycles. So far, this conjecture has been proven only for r

SIRT4 positively regulates autophagy via ULK1, but independently of HDAC6 and OPA1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cells expressing SIRT4 (H161Y), a catalytically inactive mutant of the sirtuin SIRT4, fail to upregulate LC3B‐II and exhibit a reduced autophagic flux under stress conditions. Interestingly, SIRT4(H161Y) promotes phosphorylation of ULK1 at S638 and S758 that are associated with inhibition of autophagy initiation.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

From artificial intelligence adoption to enterprise green development: Does dual environmental turbulence matter?

open access: yesInternational Review of Economics & Finance
In the context of the global resource crisis, resource-based enterprises green transformation is a key way to achieve the “dual-carbon” goal, in which artificial intelligence (AI) adoption plays an increasingly important role.

On the Eisenbud-Green-Harris Conjecture [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
It has been conjectured by Eisenbud, Green and Harris that if $I$ is a homogeneous ideal in $k[x_1,...,x_n]$ containing a regular sequence $f_1,...,f_n$ of degrees $\deg(f_i)=a_i$, where $2\leq a_1\leq ... \leq a_n$, then there is a homogeneous ideal $J$

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...
