Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Non-linearity of the pluricomplex Green function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We consider the pluricomplex Green function with multiple poles as introduced by Lelong. We give a partial solution to a question concerning the set where the multipole Green function coincides with the sum of the corresponding single pole Green ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Green function on product networks [PDF]

open access: yes
Our objective is to determine the Green function of product networks in terms of the Green function of one of the factor networks and the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the Schr odinger operator of the other factor network, which we consider that are ...

New Bounds of Hadamard’s and Simpson’s Inequalities Involving Green Functions

open access: yesMathematics
This manuscript aims to assess some new refinements of right Hadamard’s and Simpson’s-like inequalities by bridging the concepts of Green function theory and convexity framework. It is a known fact that Green functions are convex and symmetric.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Green Roofs Impact on Buildings Cooling Load [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Green roofs are being more and more promoted in south Europe. The main sales arguments are based on esthetic, depolution and thermal comfort. This paper proposes a model of the heat and mass transfer phenomenon taking place in these roofs.

The Schottky-Klein prime function: a theoretical and computational tool for applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This article surveys the important role, in a variety of applied mathematical contexts, played by the so-called Schottky–Klein (S–K) prime function.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...
