Evaluation of Green Inhibitors
4th International Pipeline Conference, Parts A and B, 2002Producing pipelines are protected from internal corrosion by the application of corrosion inhibitors. Environmental effects of corrosion inhibitors have received increased attention in recent years, especially for offshore pipelines. In response to the drive for more environmentally friendly inhibitors, several “green” corrosion inhibitors have been ...

Green tea polyphenols as inhibitors of ribonuclease A
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2004Ribonucleases (RNases), which are essential for cleavage of RNA, may be cytotoxic due to undesired cleavage of RNA in the cell. The quest for small molecule inhibitors of members of the ribonuclease superfamily has become indispensable with a growing number exhibiting unusual biological properties. Thus, inhibitors of RNases may serve as potential drug

Pitture e Vernici, 2000
There is a growing interest for the use of non toxic chemicals as corrosion inhibtors in order to reduce the environmental impact of their discharge in natural waters. Sodium, calcium and zinc salts of gluconic acid have been found to be effective against corrosion of carbon steel in neutral water solutions.

Prolyl Endopeptidase inhibitors from green tea
Archives of Pharmacal Research, 2001Three prolyl endopeptidase (PEP) inhibitors were isolated from the methanolic extract of green tea leaves. They were identified as (-)-epigallocatechin gallate, (-)-epicatechin gallate, and (+)-gallocatechin gallate with the IC50 values of 1.42 x 10(-4) mM, 1.02 x 10(-2) mM, and 1.09 x 10(-4) mM, respectively. They were non-competitive with a substrate

Plant Extracts as Green Corrosion Inhibitors
2021Adsorption inhibitors are considered efficient due to their structural characteristics, such as high electron density and heteroatom groups that can adsorb onto and protect metallic surfaces. Adsorption involves interaction between organic molecules and the metallic substrate, mainly in acidic or saline media.

Synthetic Green Corrosion Inhibitors
2022Recently, one step multicomponent reactions (MCRs) and nonconventional microwave (MW) and ultrasound (US) irradiation have emerged as highly efficient methods for various chemical transformations. The compounds derived from MCRs, MW and US methods are widely used as corrosion inhibitors for different metals and alloys in various electrolytes.

A New Class of "Green" Corrosion Inhibitors: Development and Application
SPE Projects, Facilities & Construction, 2006Summary The chemical application of corrosion inhibitors is a widely adopted practice in production and processing operations in the oil and gas industry. Particularly challenging is the development of new chemistries, which maintain good protection of materials under a variety of conditions while being environmentally acceptable.

Green Inhibitors - Where Are We?
CORROSION 2004, 2004Abstract The definition of “Green” as it pertains to “Green Chemicals” or “Green Inhibitors” is discussed. The paper also reviews the present status of Green Scale Inhibitors and Green Corrosion Inhibitors.

Oleochemicals as Green Corrosion Inhibitors
2022Oleochemicals represent a class of chemicals derived from oils and fats of plants and animals. Since they have natural precursors, this category of compounds is considered green and their application in various areas is in accordance with environmental sustainability.

Growth inhibitors produced by the green algae (Volvocaceae)
Archiv fr Mikrobiologie, 1970A complex system of growth inhibition is present in the green algae (Volvocaceae). Inhibitors are found in the culture filtrates of some genera which limit their own growth (autoinhibition) while others in the family produce inhibitors which check the growth of other genera (heteroinhibition). These inhibitors are destroyed by autoclaving.
