Atomic‐Level Insight of Carbon‐Based Anodes for Advanced Sodium Storage: Electrochemical Mechanisms and Molecular Simulation‐Assisted Modification

open access: yescMat, Volume 3, Issue 2, June 2026.
Hard carbon is a promising anode for sodium‐ion batteries, yet its Na+ storage mechanism remains elusive. This review summarizes Na+ storage behavior in hard carbon from first‐principles (DFT) calculations, establishes structure–function relationships, summarizes DFT‐based evaluation methods, and provides perspectives for the rational theoretical ...

Microstructural, Magnetic, and Tribological Optimization of Nano‐ZrO2 Reinforced Magnesium Matrix Composites Fabricated via Powder Metallurgy

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 6, June 2026.
Magnesium–ZrO2 nanocomposites fabricated via powder metallurgy exhibited enhanced density, magnetic saturation (up to 14 emu/g), and wear resistance. Uniform nanoparticle dispersion improved bonding and reduced delamination, demonstrating strong potential for lightweight, multifunctional applications in aerospace and automotive engineering.

Tribology in Malaysia: General perspective [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Tribology was first coined in 1966 as documented in ‘Jost Report’. The word ‘tribology’ has since gained a common usage for matters related to friction, wear, and lubrication in machine in-teractions.

NEW CLASS OF LUBRICANTS FOR GREEN TRIBOLOGY

open access: yesGreen Tribology, 2018
The possibility of obtaining a new class of lubricating oil bodies (PET-acylglycerol) with the help of modification of the natural fat molecule by a fragment of a link of a synthetic polymer-polyethylene terephthalate is considered. The distribution of electrostatic charge in molecules of beef fat and synthesized PET-acylglycerol is shown.

Machining Simulation of Recrystallized SiC: Failure Mechanisms, Numerical Influences, Tool Dynamics, and Friction Behavior

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper presents a comprehensive study on the machining simulation of recrystallized silicon carbide (R‐SiC), with a focus on material failure mechanisms, numerical influences, tool kinematics, and frictional behavior. A representative volume of interest was derived from CT data, and a meshing algorithm for CT‐based structures was ...
