Shadow‐Free Back‐Contact Perovskite Thin‐Film Detectors for Direct Extreme‐Ultraviolet and Soft X‐Ray Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A triple‐cation perovskite detector with a quasi‐interdigitated back‐contact architecture enables highly sensitive and linear EUV/soft x‐ray detection by minimizing electrode shadowing and enhancing charge extraction. Efficient interfacial carrier collection and rapid temporal response highlight the potential of back‐contact‐engineered perovskites for ...

Forecasting the Mitigation Potential of Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Shenzhen through Municipal Solid Waste Treatment: A Combined Weight Forecasting Model

open access: yesAtmosphere
As a significant source of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions, the municipal solid waste sector’s greenhouse gas emission mode remains unknown, hampering effective decision-making on possible greenhouse gas emission reductions. Rapid urbanization and

Under-reporting of greenhouse gas emissions in U.S. cities

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
Many cities in the US self-report greenhouse gas emissions. Here, the authors find that US cities under-report their own greenhouse gas emissions, on average, by 18.3% because city inventories omit some fuels and source types and estimate transportation ...

On the Friction and Wear Mechanisms of Electrified Steel Contacts in CO2: Unveiling the Role of Carbon‐Rich Tribofilms Under Dry Sliding Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study investigates friction and wear of AISI 52100 steel under dry sliding in CO2, air, and N2 atmospheres, with and without contact electrification. CO2 forms a stable carbon‐rich tribofilm that reduces friction by ∼30% and wear by ∼85%. High‐resolution TEM, EELS, and molecular dynamics reveal pressure‐dependent lubrication mechanisms, showing ...

Evaluation of Sargassum cristaefolium, Sargassum crassifolium, and Enhalus acoroides as feed additives for improving rumen fermentation and mitigating enteric methane emissions in vitro [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary World
Background and Aim: Enteric methane emissions from ruminants contribute substantially to greenhouse gas accumulation and energy loss in livestock systems. In maritime regions such as Indonesia, macroalgae and seagrass represent abundant but underutilized

Integrative GHG Assessment in Oil and Gas Industry

open access: yesEnergija, Ekonomija, Ekologija, 2023
Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is one of the main targets of national strategies in European countries. As a main contributor to emissions, the energy sector is recognized as the most promising to apply measures and actions aimed to decrease GHG ...

Population Under a Cap on Greenhouse Gas Emissions [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2010
A cap on greenhouse gas emissions makes total emissions a fixed common-property resource. Population increases under a cap are therefore self-limiting: a population increase raises labor and reduces emissions per unit of labor, which lowers incomes and fertility.

High‐Power Rapid Laser‐Induced Synthesis of Multi‐functional Cobalt Metal‐Organic Framework With an Unprecedented Synthesis Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Laser‐assisted synthesis enables rapid (within 1 h) and high‐yield (≥90%) production of Co‐MOFs with mesoporous structures, tunable magnetic and optical properties, and efficient adsorption of N2, CH4, and CO2 for low‐energy gas separation. DFT calculations elucidate the electronic structure and adsorption behavior.

Greenhouse Gas Emissions From Cattle

open access: yesEkológia (Bratislava), 2015
Cattle produce greenhouse gases (GHG) which lead to changes in the chemical composition of the atmosphere. These gases which cause greenhouse effect include: methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulphur dioxide (SO2), ammonia (NH3),

Conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) to Determine Carbon Payback: A Case Study of a Highly Energy-Efficient House in Rural Alaska

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
Buildings are responsible for a large portion of global greenhouse gas emissions. While energy efficiency features can significantly reduce the greenhouse gas emissions during a building’s operational stage, extra materials and processes associated
