Three‐Dimensional Printed Microarchitected Hierarchically Porous Biodegradable PLA/S/CNT Nanocomposite Electrodes for High‐Performance Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Hierarchically microarchitected PLA/S/CNT cathodes are fabricated via scalable fused filament 3D printing as high‐sulfur‐loading hosts for rechargeable lithium–sulfur batteries. The assembled Li–S cells with sulfur loadings up to 17 mg cm−2 deliver an areal capacity of 9.2 mAh cm−2 and retain 96% of their discharge capacity after 100 charge–discharge ...

Tannin-Based Strategies for Mitigating Greenhouse Gas Emissions Through Nitrogen and Carbon Metabolism in Ruminants

open access: yesAgriculture
Annual greenhouse gas emissions from livestock (CO2 equivalent) are estimated at approximately 7.1 billion tons, accounting for 14.5% of global emissions, with beef and dairy cattle production contributing 41% and 20% of total emissions, respectively ...

Modelling of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Wheat Production in Irrigated and Rain-Fed Systemsin Khorasan Razavi Province, Iran [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Agricultural Management and Development, 2017
Agriculture has a key role in greenhouse gas emissions. As such, the present study aimed to evaluate the greenhouse gas emissions from wheat production in irrigated and rain-fed systems. The primary data were collected from 116 wheat farmers.

Flexible Implantable Silicon Carbide Multi‐Electrode Array (MEA) for Cell Multichannel Recording and Cell Ablation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Flexible silicon carbide (SiC) microelectrode arrays enable high‐fidelity, multichannel cell extracellular recording and precise localized ablation. SiC has been extensively evaluated to persist long‐term in chronic physiological conditions while remaining robust, with excellent electrical and electrochemical stability.

Natural Variation of NAR5 Determines Nitrogenase Activity and the Yield in Soybean

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identified NAR5, a gene encoding a subtilisin‐like protease, that regulates nitrogenase activity in soybean nodules. Overexpressing NAR5 delayed nodule senescence, enhancing nitrogenase activity, yield, and low‐nitrogen tolerance. The elite haplotype NAR5HapI‐1 linked to superior nitrogenase activity and greater seed weight has been ...

Polar Lattice‐Distorted Motifs Enable Synergy of Local Polarization/Dipole Fields for Concurrent Glyphosate Wastewater Remediation and CO Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photocatalytic treatment of glyphosate herbicide in agricultural wastewater is achieved through the cooperative effect of the local polarization field and dipole field mediated by lattice‐distorted carbon nitride. Glyphosate is completely degraded via selective C─P bond cleavage with a CO evolution rate of 1166 µmol g−1 h−1.
