Impacts of grid‐forming inverters on distance protection
Abstract Grid‐forming (GFM) inverters are anticipated to play an essential role in facilitating the integration of renewable energy in bulk power systems. The fault response of GFM inverters and its impact on traditional protection schemes are ongoing research topics.

3D‐Printed Porous Hydroxyapatite Formed via Enzymatic Mineralization
Bone combines lightness, strength, and the ability to heal, inspiring new materials design. This work introduces a room‐temperature, enzyme‐mediated 3D printing method to create porous hydroxyapatite scaffolds. The process avoids energy‐intensive sintering, preserves bioactivity, and allows control over porosity and mineralization.

Steady state evaluation of distributed secondary frequency control strategies for microgrids in the presence of clock drifts [PDF]
Secondary frequency control, i.e., the task of restoring the network frequency to its nominal value following a disturbance, is an important control objective in microgrids.

A Cu‐based crystal‐glass composite with high‐density twins is identified by a fast screening technique using combinatorial sputtering together with XRD and nanoindentation mapping. This bamboo‐like structure demonstrates homogenous plastic flow and retains high strength during in situ high temperature tests, up to 1 GPa at 550°C, owing to those ...

On Stability of a Distributed Averaging PI Frequency and Active Power Controlled Differential-Algebraic Power System Model [PDF]
We consider the problems of stability, frequency restoration and optimal steady-state resource allocation in a heterogeneous and structure-preserving differential-algebraic equation (DAE) power system model.

A polyelectrolyte complex‐based sorbent is produced by scalable, environmentally benign aqueous phase inversion. Its porous, LiCl‐ and GO‐integrated architecture enables hourly adsorption−desorption cycles at low relative humidity (RH < 30%). A large‐scale prototype achieves multicyclic, solar‐driven atmospheric water harvesting of 1.37 L kg−1 day−1 ...

Grid-forming control for high-power inverters
