Growth rates of geometric grid classes of permutations [PDF]
Geometric grid classes of permutations have proven to be key in investigations of classical permutation pattern classes. By considering the representation of gridded permutations as words in a trace monoid, we prove that every geometric grid class has a ...

Regularization of spherical and axisymmetric evolution codes in numerical relativity [PDF]
Several interesting astrophysical phenomena are symmetric with respect to the rotation axis, like the head-on collision of compact bodies, the collapse and/or accretion of fields with a large variety of geometries, or some forms of gravitational waves ...

Color Routing and Beam Steering of Single‐Molecule Emission with a Spherical Silicon Nanoantenna
We experimentally demonstrate broadband directional emission from single molecules using a single spherical silicon nanoparticle assembled via DNA origami. By varying nanoparticle (NP) size and emitter position, we achieve unidirectional emission, beam steering, and color routing at the nanoscale, revealing modal interference as the underlying ...

Wind energy value and deep decarbonization design, what’s next?
As we approach deeply decarbonized electrical grids worldwide, wind energy shares are rapidly rising and projected to reach or even exceed 40% of all energy generation within a few decades for many parts of the world. With the associated intermittency of

Playing Games in the Baire Space
We solve a generalized version of Church's Synthesis Problem where a play is given by a sequence of natural numbers rather than a sequence of bits; so a play is an element of the Baire space rather than of the Cantor space.

Navigating Ternary Doping in Li‐ion Cathodes With Closed‐Loop Multi‐Objective Bayesian Optimization
The search for advanced battery materials is pushing us into highly complex composition spaces. Here, a space with about 14 million unique combinations is efficiently explored using high‐throughput experimentation guided by Bayesian optimization with a deep kernel trained on both the Materials Project database and our data.

Superionic Amorphous Li2ZrCl6 and Li2HfCl6
Amorphous Li2HfCl6 and L2ZrCl6 are shown to be promising solid‐state electrolytes with predicted ionic conductivities >20 mS·cm−1. Molecular dynamics simulations with machine‐learning force fields reveal that anion vibrations and flexible MCl6 octahedra soften the Li coordination cage and enhance mobility. Correlation between Li‐ion diffusivity and the

THE IMPACT OF SUBSIDY MECHANISMS ON BIOMASS AND OIL SHALE BASED ELECTRICITY COST PRICES; pp. 140–151 [PDF]
This paper provides electricity cost price estimates for biomass-based CHP plants and oil shale power plants to be constructed before 2013 and 2015 that can serve as references for more detailed case-specific studies.
