Effect of ball milling in a tumbling ball mill on the properties of multi-wall carbon nanotubes [PDF]
The effects of ball milling on various properties of ground multi-wall carbon nanotubes were studied. These properties were granulometry, SEM,specific surface area, density, crystalline structure, surface chemical analysis and thermogravimetry.

It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Analytical modeling of surface roughness in precision grinding of particle reinforced metal matrix composites considering nanomechanical response of material [PDF]
Grinding is usually applied for particle reinforced metal matrix composites (PRMMCs) to achieve high ground surface quality. However, the surface quality especially surface roughness is difficult to predict theoretically due to different mechanical ...

This study investigates the tribological response of 60NiTi alloy under dry, water‐lubricated and high‐temperature conditions. The alloy exhibits decreasing wear volume and friction with increasing temperature due to the formation of protective oxide layers. The work clarifies dominant wear mechanisms and demonstrates the suitability of 60NiTi for high‐

Electro-chemical grinding [PDF]
Electro-chemical grinding technique has rotation speed control, constant feed rates, and contour control. Hypersonic engine parts of nickel alloys can be almost 100% machined, keeping tool pressure at virtual zero.

Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.

High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...

Electrical Conductivities of Conductors, Semiconductors, and Their Mixtures at Elevated Temperatures
This article presents a comprehensive review of temperature‐dependent electrical conductivity data for multiple material classes at elevated temperatures, highlighting a persistent conductivity gap between metals and semiconductors in the range of 102$\left(10\right)^{2}$– 107$\left(10\right)^{7}$ S/m. Metal–ceramic irregular metamaterials are proposed
