Limits to the critical current in Bi2Sr2Ca2Cu3Ox tape conductors: The parallel path model [PDF]
An extensive overview of a model that describes current flow and dissipation in high-quality Bi2Sr2Ca2Cu3Ox superconducting tapes is provided. The parallel path model is based on a superconducting current running in two distinct parallel paths.

Powder Optimization Strategies for Binder Jetting Printing of BaTiO3 and Ba0,6Sr0,4TiO3 Ceramics
Powder optimization is investigated to enable binder jetting of BaTiO3 and Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 ferroelectric ceramics. The antagonistic relationship between flowability and binder compatibility is addressed through binder impregnation of granulated powders and fumed silica addition to fine powders.

Force and Temperature Modeling in 5 - axis Grinding
Abstract Building upon a recently published (J. Manuf. Sci. Eng. 2017;. doi:10.1115/1.4037969) general geometrical framework for specific removal rate, the current paper develops the physics in 5 - axis grinding (5AG). Relating the grain-level chip thickness h to the wheel-local material removal rate per unit area m”, grinding force components from ...

Wear rates in urban rail systems [PDF]
A significant part of maintenance costs in urban rail systems (metro, tram, light rapid transit/light metro) is due to wheel-rail wear. Wear rates - measured for example as depth of wear per kilometre run (rolling stock) or per train passage (rails ...
