Grinding temperature in high speed deep grinding of engineering ceramics
International Journal of Abrasive Technology, 2009The paper presents an investigation of the thermal behaviour of high speed deep grinding (HSDG) for engineering ceramics, yttria partially stabilised zirconium (PSZ) and Al2O3, using the grindable thermocouple technique. Effects of the grinding conditions, including wheel velocity, feed rate and depth of cut, on the temperature were investigated.

Investigation of the grinding temperature and energy partition during cylindrical grinding
The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2018In this study, the distribution of temperature and energy under the process parameter conditions and thermal physical parameters are investigated using a physics-based model via the finite element modeling (FEM) simulation and experimental validation during cylindrical grinding.

The tribology of the grinding process: An investigation of the temperature increase during grinding
Wear, 1979Abstract A grinding wheel can be considered as a carrier of massive grains which act as abrading heat sources. Therefore in the study of the grinding process cutting forces, heat generation and temperature rise must be taken into consideration. This paper presents a new theory based on the tribological aspects of grinding and on Guest's theory.

Grinding With Abrasive Disks: Part 4—Grinding Power and Temperatures
Journal of Engineering for Industry, 1962Variations in power during disk grinding have been explained and equations developed to represent the power in terms of the grinding variables. It has been shown that depth of cut is below the critical magnitude so that ultimate shear strength of the metal is involved for all but the initial 30 to 120 seconds of grinding.
