DYNAMIC MONITORING OF FRICTIONAL MOBILE SYSTEMS TRIBOTHERMODYNAMICS
A hypothesis of experimental tribothermodynamics had been suggested and proved. The hypothesis permits to define flash temperature on the true contact area as a practical example.

Self-Biased-SMA Drive PU Microgripper with Force Sensing in Visual Servo
An innovative design of a polyurethane microgripper system with force sensor is developed for the measurement of gripping force in vision-based control. A microgripper mechanism integrated with a force sensing arm is fabricated by an excimer laser.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Flexible and safe automation with gripping interfaces
S.490-498Gripping interfaces are solids which are attached to objects to provide standardized gripping surfaces for manipulation. Gripping interfaces considerably reduce flexibility requirements for the gripper of the handling system and enable ...

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

PREVENTION OF THERMOMECHANICAL DAMAGE OF WHEEL–RAIL TRIBO-SYSTEM WHEN SKIDDING
Some tribo-thermodynamic hypotheses that permit to identify athermal and (or) thermal gripping, to define peak magnitude of the contact temperatures on the actual contact area of the wheel-rail tribo-system, are proved.

A BIOLOGICAL GRIPPING MECHANISM EQUIVALENT WITH THE BIOMECANISM OF THE HUMAN [PDF]
Studying the biomechanisms makes possible the discovery of interesting equivalent mechanisms. These mechanisms can be used to industrial robots in many branches. The gripping biomechanisms have different parts in the living world (gripping and pressing

The impact of the 2013 rule changes on gripping configuration in high-level judo athletes
Purpose: International Judo Federation introduced a set of new rules in a short time period (2009 − 2013). The aim of this research is to determine how the rule modification influences the gripping configurations used by elite male judo athletes ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.
