Hypothyroidism in a Grizzly Bear
Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 1970SUMMARY Dermatitis associated with hypothyroidism occurred in a captive grizzly bear. The diagnosis was confirmed at necropsy. It was believed that the hypothyroid condition in this case resulted from a combination of management factors, including low amounts of dietary iodine and the feeding of goitrogenic materials.
