Near‐Field Electrospinning Micro‐Printhead Achieves Precise Control of Nanofiber Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A micro‐printhead for near‐field electrospinning enables reproducible deposition of polymer nanofibers with diameters below 50 nm. Systematic parameter studies uncover the mechanisms linking operating conditions to fiber morphology, paving the way for precise and low‐cost nanoscale 3D manufacturing. As a high‐resolution, cost‐effective, and rapid ...

GNSS Ground deformation observation network optimization assisted using prior InSAR-derived ground surface deformation and multiscale iteration estimation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Digital Earth
Ground surface deformation must be monitored to understand and prevent geological hazards. Global navigation satellite system (GNSS) technology has been widely used in deformation monitoring; however, current GNSS station layout strategies are often ...

Pyramidal Structures on Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia after High Temperature Exposure at 1500°C: New Features on an Old Material

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

Measuring and modelling deformation during the Dabbahu (Afar) rifting episode [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In September 2005, a 60-km-long dyke intruded the Dabbahu segment of the Nubia-Arabia plate boundary (Afar, Ethiopia), marking the beginning of an ongoing rifting episode.

Mapping ground deformation in the northern Yangtze River estuary using improved MT-InSAR based on ICA and non-stationary analysis

open access: yesGeo-spatial Information Science
Coastal regions are increasingly vulnerable to ground deformation hazards, which can cause structural damage and amplify flood risks. Accurately monitoring the evolution of such deformation is crucial for hazard assessment.

Ground-Based Deformation Monitoring

open access: yes, 2014
The observation and analysis of movements of large structures, man-made as well as natural ones, such as high-rise buildings, dams or rock slides and earthquake zones, is a highly responsible task in engineering. Deformation monitoring is essential to public safety by reducing the risk of structural failure.

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.
