Experimental Study of Airfoil Aerodynamic Behavior under Oscillating Motion in Ground Effect [PDF]
When a flying vehicle approaches a water or land surface, it induces changes in the fluid flow field pattern known as the "ground effect." This research analyzes the ground effect phenomenon, exploring its impact on aerodynamic coefficients and flow ...

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

An experimental and theoretical investigation of thick wings at various sweep angles in and out of ground effect [PDF]
The effects of sweep and aspect ratio on the longitudinal aerodynamics of a wing in and out of ground effect are analyzed. Experimental data were obtained in the Langley 4 by 7 Meter Tunnel for a wing with various sweep angles, aspect ratios, and flap ...

One-Dimensional S=1 Spin-Orbital Model with Uniaxial Single-Ion Anisotropy
We investigate ground-state properties of a one-dimensional S=1 spin-orbital model with or without uniaxial single-ion anisotropy. By means of the density matrix renormalization group method, we compute the ground-state energy, the magnetization curves ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
