In this study, the broadband ground motions of the 2021 M7.4 Maduo earthquake were simulated to overcome the scarcity of ground motion recordings and the low resolution of macroseismic intensity map in sparsely populated high-altitude regions.

The effect of ground-motion characteristics and intensity measures on the sliding of rigid bodies
The sliding response of rigid bodies is investigated under multiple suites of ground-motion records having different inherent characteristics: Ordinary (no-pulse-like, no-long-duration), near field, pulselike versus spectrally-matched non-pulse-like twins, and long-duration versus spectrally-matched shortduration twins.

Selecting an appropriate ground motion intensity measure (IM) to estimate the aleatory uncertainty produced by ground motion variability is the first and crucial step in fragility analysis. The choice of IM is influenced not only by the structural system

Empirical correlations between cumulative absolute velocity and amplitude-based ground motion intensity measures [PDF]
Empirical correlation equations are developed between cumulative absolute velocity (CAV) and other common ground motion intensity measures, namely, peak ground acceleration (PGA), peak ground velocity (PGV), 5% damped pseudo spectral acceleration (SA ...

Efficiency assessment of ground motion intensity measures in the estimation of dynamic response of reinforced concrete moment frames [PDF]
Selection of appropriate accelerograms for nonlinear dynamic analysis is one of the most important challenges due to their significant influence on the interpretation of analysis results.

Ground Motion Prediction Equation for Optimal Combination of Spectral Displacements as the intensity measure for short-period buildings using Iranian strong ground motion records [PDF]
Important parameters of strong ground motions in a site in terms of potential damage to structures can be represented by an intensity measure parameter.

A drift-correlated ground motion intensity measure: Application to steel frame buildings [PDF]
Estimations of seismic risk in urban areas should include quantifications of the expected damage to civil structures subjected to earthquakes. In buildings, this quantification depends on the maximum inter-story drift (MIDR), among other aspects. In this study, the correlation between several intensity measures (IMs) and the maximum inter-story drift ...

Correlation between Pulse-Like Ground Motion Intensity Measures and Seismic Demands of Buildings with Three Structural Systems (Moment-Resisting Frames, Structural Walls and Combination of Moment-Resisting Frames and Shear Walls) [PDF]
In this study, the distribution of correlation coefficients between maximum interstory drift ratio (MIDR) of multistorey building structures and ground motion characteristics intensity measures (IMs) is evaluated and compared.

Characteristics of Strong Ground Motions in the 30 October 2020, MW6.9 Aegean Sea Earthquake
The eastern parts of the Aegean Sea were struck by a destructive MW 6.9 earthquake on 30 October 2020 at 11:51:27 UTC. The earthquake ruptured an East-West trending normal fault in the Aegean Sea between the northern coast of Samos Island and the ...
