Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

The Control of Shield Tunnel Construction-Induced Ground Settlement Based on an Optimized Gap Parameter Theory and Three-Dimensional Finite Element Analysis

open access: yesBuildings
The ground settlement induced by shield tunnel construction should be carefully monitored and controlled during construction as a compulsory measurement to ensure construction safety. In the existing literature, gap parameter theory is adopted to predict

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Free-Field Ground Settlement and Static Instability of Liquefiable Soil [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The likely amount of free-field ground settlement following soil liquefaction can be used as an engineering demand parameter to assess the ground damage due to liquefaction.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Analysis on Subsidence Law of Bedrock and Ultrathick Loose Layer Caused by Coal Mining

open access: yesGeofluids, 2021
In the process of coal mining, when the buried depth is large and the loose layer is thick, the ground subsidence tends to be abnormal, thus causing great damage to the surface ecological environment.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Surcharge Load Effect on Additional Ground Settlement of Narrow and Elongated Foundation Pit

open access: yesChengshi guidao jiaotong yanjiu
ObjectiveIn foundation pit engineering, surcharge load acting on the perimeter of the foundation pit (hereinafter referred to as "pit perimeter") will induce additional ground settlement, which exerts a significant impact on the safety of the foundation ...

Bending of A Batter Pile Due To Ground Settlement

open access: yesSoils and Foundations, 1985
ABSTRACT This paper presents a method of analyzing, with the aid of an electronic computer, the flexural behavior of a batter pile due to ground settlement. In the method used here, a pile was devided into four sections according to ground conditions and Winkler subgrade was assumed for subsiding clay ground.
