Electronegativity Seen as the Ground-State Average Valence Electron Binding Energy.
We introduce a new electronegativity scale for atoms, based consistently on ground-state energies of valence electrons. The scale is closely related to (yet different from) L. C. Allen's, which is based on configuration energies.

Defining Roles in Pediatric Palliative Care: Perspectives From Oncology and Palliative Care Teams
ABSTRACT Background Early integration of pediatric palliative care (PPC) is associated with improved symptom management, quality of life, and healthcare utilization for children with cancer. Despite this, variation persists in how PPC is understood, operationalized, and integrated within pediatric oncology programs. In particular, ambiguity surrounding

Using vegetation indices to identify high chlorophyll tree cover in floodplains for carbon sequestration [PDF]
The dynamics of changes of Chlorophyll vegetation index (CVI) and Red-edge chlorophyll index (CIRE) for plant cover during the springsummer period on river floodplains has been studied. Landscape sections with high photosynthetic activity were identified

Striped phases in two dimensional dipole systems
We prove that a system of discrete 2D in-plane dipoles with four possible orientations, interacting via a 3D dipole-dipole interaction plus a nearest neighbor ferromagnetic term, has periodic striped ground states.

ABSTRACT Background Survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often exhibit early deficits in muscle and movement competence, which can compromise long‐term health. Integrative neuromuscular training (INT), a multifaceted approach combining fundamental movement activities with strength exercises, may help address these deficits during ...

A fast time synchronization method for large-scale LEO satellite networks based on a bionic algorithm is proposed. Because the inter-satellite links are continuously established and interrupted due to the relative motion of the satellites, the topology ...

Non-Ground-State Bose-Einstein Condensates of Trapped Atoms
The possibility of creating a Bose condensate of trapped atoms in a non-ground state is suggested. Such a nonequilibrium Bose condensate can be formed if one, first, obtains the conventional Bose condensate in the ground state and then transfers the ...

Gapless Spin-Liquid Ground State in the S=1/2 Kagome Antiferromagnet. [PDF]
The defining problem in frustrated quantum magnetism, the ground state of the nearest-neighbor S=1/2 antiferromagnetic Heisenberg model on the kagome lattice, has defied all theoretical and numerical methods employed to date.

ABSTRACT Treatment‐associated hepatotoxicity (TAH) is a common complication of pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) treatment, but genetic risk factors remain poorly understood. We evaluated the SOD2 rs4880 variant in 544 children with ALL at Texas Children's Hospital. After adjusting for demographic and clinical covariates, the rs4880 C allele
