Nonreciprocal ground-state cooling of multiple mechanical resonators [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2020
The simultaneous ground-state cooling of multiple degenerate or near-degenerate mechanical modes coupled to a common cavity-field mode has become an outstanding challenge in cavity optomechanics.

Photodetachment of C in the ground state [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2020
Synopsis Absolute total cross sections and asymmetry parameters for photodetachment of C− (4So) have been measured using animated-crossed-beam and velocity map imaging techniques, for photon energies from threshold up to 6eV. The cross sections are 15% to 25% larger than earlier experimental results above 2.2 eV.

AN ADAPTIVE SHIP DETECTION ALGORITHM FOR HRWS SAR IMAGES UNDER COMPLEX BACKGROUND: APPLICATION TO SENTINEL1A DATA [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2018
Real-time ship detection using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) plays a vital role in disaster emergency and marine security. Especially the high resolution and wide swath (HRWS) SAR images, provides the advantages of high resolution and wide swath ...

Temperature-Dependent Dual Fluorescence from Small Organic Molecules

open access: yesOrganic Materials, 2022
The temperature-dependent dual fluorescence from a single component of small organic molecules (SOMs) is very promising for the ratiometric fluorescence sensing of temperature. However, the SOM-based fluorophores typically only show one fluorescence band.

NLS ground states on the half-line with point interactions [PDF]

open access: yesNonlinear Differ. Equ. Appl. (2023) 30:51, 2022
We investigate the existence and the uniqueness of NLS ground states of fixed mass on the half-line in the presence of a point interaction at the origin. The nonlinearity is of power type, and the regime is either $L^2$-subcritical or $L^{2}$-critical, while the point interaction is either attractive or repulsive.

Ground-state Dirac monopole [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2011
We show theoretically that a monopole defect, analogous to the Dirac magnetic monopole, may exist as the ground state of a dilute spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate. The ground-state monopole is not attached to a single semi-infinite Dirac string, but forms a point where the circulation of a single vortex line is reversed.

Cooling of a levitated nanoparticle to the motional quantum ground state [PDF]

open access: yesScience, 2019
A nanoparticle trapped and cooled Cooling massive particles to the quantum ground state allows fundamental tests of quantum mechanics to be made; it would provide an experimental probe of the boundary between the classical and quantum worlds. Delić et al.

Feature Extraction for Moving Targets Based on the Statistical Characteristics of Echo Amplitude with the L-Band Fully Polarimetric Radar

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
Non-imaging radar can achieve the detection and localization of moving targets, but it faces difficulties in the classification of targets. Aiming for the application of moving target classification by low/medium resolution non-imaging radar, this paper ...
