Effects of chronic browsing on life‐history traits of an irruptive large herbivore population

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study aimed to determine the relationship between diet quality, body mass, and size (hind foot length), and female reproduction and sought to identify the mechanism by which high density under severe food limitations is maintained. Our results demonstrated that sika deer introduced to Nakanoshima Island have maintained high densities through high ...

Multiple Positive Solutions to a Kirchhoff Type Problem Involving a Critical Nonlinearity in ℝ3

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies, 2017
In this paper, we investigate a class of Kirchhoff type problems in ℝ3{\mathbb{R}^{3}} involving a critical nonlinearity, namely,

Blow-up solutions with minimal mass for nonlinear Schrödinger equation with variable potential

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis, 2021
This paper studies the mass-critical variable coefficient nonlinear Schrödinger equation. We first get the existence of the ground state by solving a minimization problem.

Electronegativity Seen as the Ground-State Average Valence Electron Binding Energy.

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society, 2018
We introduce a new electronegativity scale for atoms, based consistently on ground-state energies of valence electrons. The scale is closely related to (yet different from) L. C. Allen's, which is based on configuration energies.

Creation of an Ultracold Gas of Ground-State Dipolar ^{23}Na^{87}Rb Molecules. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2016
We report the successful production of an ultracold sample of absolute ground-state ^{23}Na^{87}Rb molecules. Starting from weakly bound Feshbach molecules formed via magnetoassociation, the lowest rovibrational and hyperfine level of the electronic ...

Spin of ground state baryons

open access: yes, 2010
We calculate the quark spin contribution to the total angular momentum of flavor octet and flavor decuplet ground state baryons using a spin-flavor symmetry based parametrization method of quantum chromodynamics.

Combining transient dynamics and logistic‐asymptotic growth to study the recovery of two seabird populations after rat eradication

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study examines the demographic dynamics of two seabird populations on Tromelin Island, 15 years after the eradication of brown rats. The results indicate that these populations are in good health and are expected to continue growing until breeding sites are saturated in about a century.

Global well-posedness of some high-order focusing semilinear evolution equations with exponential nonlinearity

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis, 2018
In even space dimensions, the initial value problems for some high-order focusing semilinear evolution equations with exponential nonlinearities are considered.

Can ultrastrong coupling change ground state chemical reactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Recent advancements on the fabrication of organic micro- and nanostructures have permitted the strong collective light-matter coupling regime to be reached with molecular materials. Pioneering works in this direction have shown the effects of this regime
