Hydrogeochemical factors influencing the dynamics of groundwater characteristics in eco-sensitive areas of the Southern Western Ghats, India

open access: yesScientific Reports
The inter-ionic relationships of groundwater present in a region as well as various chemical and physical factors all have an impact on the geochemistry of groundwater in an aquifer.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Theoretical analysis and second-order approximation of solution of fractal-fractional differential equations with Mittag-Leffler Kernel

open access: yesMathematical and Computer Modelling of Dynamical Systems
Some new uniqueness theorems are proposed and a flexible, efficient numerical algorithm is formulated and analysed for convergence and numerically verified for nonlinear fractal-fractional differential equations with Mittag-Leffler kernel.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Mathematical and numerical optimality of non-singular fractional approaches on free and forced linear oscillator

open access: yesNonlinear Engineering, 2020
The prediction of oscillators is usually employed in various industrial and technological problems; such as car shock absorbers, bungee jumping, earthquake-proof buildings, musical instruments, metronome and the process of hearing.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

Determination of silt thickness in Durga Kund for its de-isolation at Varanasi U.P. India

open access: yesWater Science, 2020
In this study, we are focused on the re-connection of Kund to the water table. Kunds are the best ancient architectural construction that was connected to the underground water table and works upon the principle of the Capillary action.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.
