Patient Behaviors

open access: yesGrounded Theory Review: An International Journal
This classic grounded theory study uncovered both a basic social process theory and an emerging typology of patients based upon their behavior as they react and adapt to the healthcare environment.

Removing Oxide Layers and Retaining Oxide‐Free Steel Surfaces by Polishing in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the efficacy of wet mechanical polishing under an oxygen‐free atmosphere for deoxidation and the retention of an oxide‐free steel surface are elucidated using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The methodology proved successful; however, the results were highly dependent on the preparation of the solvents used to clean the samples after ...

Investigation of Oxygen‐Free Wetting Behavior of Aluminum on Copper via Molecular Dynamics Simulations and Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The wettability of aluminum droplets (Al) on different copper substrates (Cu), where liquid Al spreads on solid Cu surfaces to form a liquid–solid interface, is studied numerically and experimentally. The experimental and numerical results show good agreement in the fast‐spreading regime.

Constructivist Grounded Theory?

open access: yesGrounded Theory Review: An International Journal, 2012
I refer to and use as scholarly inspiration Charmaz’s excellent article on constructivist grounded theory as a tool of getting to the fundamental issues on why grounded theory is not constructivist.

Pyramidal Structures on Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia after High Temperature Exposure at 1500°C: New Features on an Old Material

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

Interaction of MgO Recyclate‐Based Cermet Anode With KF‐AlF3‐Al2O3 at 800°C During Laboratory Scale Aluminum Molten Salt Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A carbon‐free, as‐sintered MgO–steel cermet anode, fabricated via cold isostatic pressing using MgO–C refractory recyclate, was evaluated under laboratory‐scale K‐cryolite electrolysis at 800°C. Operation at this reduced temperature, combined with the electrolyte's limited electrical conductivity, led to an increase in cell voltage.

Grounded Therapy

open access: yesGrounded Theory Review: An International Journal
From the beginning of my experience with therapy, I saw many areas in which it was evident to me that the therapeutic process and the therapeutic relationship could be improved.

S.A.C.R.E.D : is there a mystery in learning? : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Education (Adult Education), Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Relationships are at the core of life for all human beings. Learning is also core to our development as people. So is there a connection between relationships and learning that needs to be acknowledged and understood in the learning experience for adult ...

Toward Low‐Consumable Anodes: Process Simulation and Prospective Life Cycle Assessment of NiFe2O4‐NiO‐Ni‐Cu vs. Prebaked Anodes for Aluminum Production with use of Molten Salt Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐consumable nickel ferrite‐based anodes for the Hall–Héroult process are compared with conventional prebaked carbon anodes using thermodynamic simulation and prospective life cycle assessment under contrasting future electricity system pathways from 2025 to 2050.
