Three paradoxes in the approach to educational technology in the education studies of the Spanish universities

open access: yesInternational Journal of Educational Technology in Higher Education, 2018
The education studies of the Spanish universities are not alien to technological innovations, but their approach to them tends to be basically instrumental.

Mathematical Communication: What And How To Develop It In Mathematics Learning? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Mathematics is the language of symbols so that everyone who studied mathematics required having the ability to communicate using the language of these symbols. Mathematical communication skills will make a person could use mathematics for its own sake as

The Capacity of Adaptive Group Testing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We define capacity for group testing problems and deduce bounds for the capacity of a variety of noisy models, based on the capacity of equivalent noisy communication channels.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

A method for improving communication robustness of belt conveyor protection system based on bus redundancy mechanism

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan
Aiming at the problem of stopping production for communication failure in the belt conveyor protection system, this paper analyzes the characteristics of the query bus and control bus of the protection system, and proposes a grouping communication and ...

Create-A-Culture: An Experiential Approach To Cross Cultural Communication Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This small group activity uses a pseudo-simulation approach to explore dynamics of enculturation, acculturation, third culture, and diaspora and the resulting influences upon cross-cultural communication competence.

Superqubits

open access: yes, 2010
We provide a supersymmetric generalization of n quantum bits by extending the local operations and classical communication entanglement equivalence group [SU(2)]^n to the supergroup [uOSp(1|2)]^n and the stochastic local operations and classical ...

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.
